coma cluster

(probably) Day 45 of lock-down, during which our 4th. interval of clear sky lasted long enough for a 15 minute blast on this. Wrong telescope, so even though this field is replete with galaxies, few are recongnisable as such. Centre stage is giant elliptical galaxy ngc 4874, 10 times the size of our galaxy and at 360 million light years, one of the closest in the cluster. We really are looking into the past...
