cloning in progress |
Lovely bit of software used to clone a 1Gb dual boot windows/kubuntu UEFI mechanical HDD onto a new 1Gb SSD.
First, disable secure boot so you can boot the clonezilla iso you burned onto a usb stick, then boot from it.
Then, taking all the defaults, choose device to device copy. This Lenovo g50 had the source hdd as sda and the target -a €70 KingSpec SSD in an €8 reusable case- sdc.
With the sdd connected to a usb2 port it took around 40 minutes, start to finish.

progress: the 5th. partition was where windows was installed |
All that's left then is to remove the old hdd and preplace it with the new sdd. Don't forget to change back to secure boot.
